Women in the Swedish tech industry (ENG)

An outsiders view on women representation in the tech industry. Having just moved to Sweden I was shocked when I saw the statistics; 0.7% of VC funding in Sweden goes to all women founders And when you look at who is doing the investing only 3 out of 95 partners in 18 Swedish venture capital companies are women (2017). These are very unsettling figures to see for such a progressive economy like Sweden where major barriers to women’s inclusion have been lowered e.g. maternity & paternity leave. A lot more work needs to be done in this space to make it a truly even playing field.
