The Future Energy Mix - Fossil Free Energy Technologies
Invest 15 mins of reading time and the SusTechable team guarantees you'll understand a bit more about the energy mix of the future.
Here is a report for those of us not in the energy sector, for those of us who vaguely remember our high school physics classes and for those of us who want to understand a little more about the Energy mix of the Future.
The fossil free energy transition has escaped no one. We (most counties) have signed the Paris Agreement, are committed to halving emission by 2030 and aiming for net zero by 2050. But how does the basics of the energy system work? What are the pro's and cons of solar, hydro, wind, geothermal? How much energy is needed to power a city or a country - and why does that matter. Invest 15mins of reading time and the Sustechable team guarantees you'll understand a bit more.
About SusTechable
SusTechable is a movement dedicated to exploring the intersection of technology and sustainability. We are obsessed with transforming our existential angst to something constructive and as a team effort we’ve co-authored this report to explore the future energy mix in an easy-to-read manner. As with most of SusTechable’s projects, it started as a group discussion where we had more questions than answers, we couldn’t easily find the informationen we seeked and got annoyed. That itch lead to this report; How does the energy system work, what are our renewable options, the pro’s and con’s and then an attempt to explain the frustrating sector jargon.
